Getting There & Where to Stay

Mambray Creek park access is off National Highway One, about 45 minutes drive north of Port Pirie or 40 minutes south of Port Augusta. From Gepps cross it will take a bit over 2 and a half hours. You can try any of the regional towns for motels or caravan parks, book a Bed & Breakfast or choose to camp at Mambray Creek.

Park Entry

Because it is a national park, each vehicle needs a permit to enter Mambray Creek. It is $10.50 for entry and includes everyone you can jam into your car the few km in from the main road- carpooling encouraged (even if only from the main road parking bay).

Contingency Plan

In the event that a catastrophic fire danger rating is declared the Park will be closed. We have a backup plan and will let you know details if needed.

Dear Friend,

We are very excited that you are able to come to our wedding celebration. As the day is rapidly approaching there are a couple of updates to share.

1. The venue is outdoors at Mambray Creek in Mount Remarkable National Park. At 1030am there should be plenty of shade but it is summer so you may want to bring a hat or sunscreen.

2. Flies. Will be present. We will have extra fly repellant but we will just have to consider them part of the experience.

3. We will provide lunch on site at Mambray. Our caterers have been booked because of their association with Variety SA and are putting their fee toward the work Variety does helping kids in need. It wont be a fancy sit down meal but you wont go hungry.

4. We have not obtained a liquor licence for our wedding and so are not allowed to provide you alcohol. We will have a variety of non alcoholic drinks available including some that would be considered ‘mixers’. You are welcome to bring your preferred beverage if you wish.

5. Your phone probably wont work at Mambray.

6. The wedding area is between the main campground and the day area. Head toward the day area and follow the signs.

7. If you do not have a campsite booked then you will need a permit to bring your car into the park. These must be purchased online in advance at a cost of $13.50 for a day pass. (It is about 5ks in from the main road so you will want to bring your car or carpool).

8. The caterers have a coffee machine in their van.

We appreciate the effort that you are making to be part of our special day and look forward to seeing you on the second November. - Gary and Paula
